Emmerson has just announced that RN will be running commentary of all Durham games this year. Sounded like it was a struggle to get that due to the licence fee freeze.

Anyone know the finer detail or what frequency that'd be on?

Nice call btw MBH.

How many colleagues has Martin had to bump off to get this gig? ;)

Martin is a really nice lad; I often see him down the Riverside and have a bit craic on. I know that he will be very pleased that the BBC have had their arms twisted and will be covering Durham this season as he was disappointed when they pulled the plug last year.

Great news. I always listen to the T20 commentary, but never normally bother listening to BBC Notts or whatever when we're playing in the CC.

Great news. All the home CC games will be covered and some of the away ones where the host broadcaster is covering. In an email I got about it he stated that the CC games will be replacing the T20 which is a bit bittersweet as ideally both would be covered but it seems the BBC won't pay for travelling, hotels and the logistical costs of away games in the T20, twinned with Martin Speight's departure from the commentary scene. Tim Wellock will still do the bulletins on BBC for games not covered by Emmo.

Commentaries are only available online though.

great news. had some canny craic last year, with marty reading out emails from some lads off here and myself on air.

will have to tune in again and it usually can be found on the bbc site for the radio coverage

:-D

First commentary of the season tomorrow from Headingley. Although it'll be supplied by the Yorkies I imagine Martin might have a few words at times.
