Got to say this has to be one of the best threads on here, not because of content, but because we are debating on an issue, which is very relevant to life in the UK today, i just hope those people who look at this forum, don't look at this and think we are all knuckle dragger's, but i am sure we can all admit we have our fair share of racists who support the club. may only be a few but, lets not sweep under the carpet that we have that issue.

I agree and disagree with your excellent post .... yes there are racists in the NE, some of whom support our club.

However, I don't believe it's an issue.

I was there, at Burton, and heard no racist comments. The only reported comment was shouted down by the decent people around the culprit.

That, imo, isn't an issue.

If there were regular racist comments/chants by a number of people then, yes, that would be an issue.

I believe that, if this lad had continued, he'd have been introduced to 'rough justice' ..... an honourable form of justice as far as I'm concerned.

I am sure that every club has a few twats who can’t help themselves.
A very small minority that would also act as twats away from football.

Yes and its nice to see the culprit was seen to, but its been nice that the issue has been raised, and we have all been able to debate it, but i would say we have our own percentage like many other clubs, i just hope people coming onto this forum realise we aren't all like that.

have you seen the whole thread, its been very eye opening, ?

It's not 'that' racist because I'm not offended by it

Fuck sake

Jardine is a very sad man who hides behind his multiple smilies.

I'd ask him one question ...... if he was actually with Maja, at a social occasion, and someone made a similar comment would he laugh it off as he's done on here.

If he would then I'd have to admit he's a man of his word.

I suspect, however, that he's the pathetic coward and hypocrite most people see him as.

Travelling the Country watching football nothing really surprises me anymore sadly. What can you do?
Told this little twat of a kid off on the train coming back from Morecambe.
With his Dad, 10 years old and belching in front of families on the train.
Told him that he needed to learn some basic manners.
Worse thing was he was wearing a Swindon top and I didn’t want people to think he was mine. His Dad has a decent job on the railways, has no control of him whatsoever.
It starts at home. Manners and respect my kids know those two words as it’s been drilled into them from day one.

How do we explain the adults, who should know better ?

Nearly 28,000 views on this thread.

One knuckle dragging simpleton at the match and 2 fucktards on this thread can do a lot a damage to the clubs reputation.

Not disagreeing with your point at all but worth mentioning that it isn't unique views on here, so although it says 26,000 views it won't be anything like that number of people, half of them are probably jardine clicking back in to play devils advocate again!

It is an issue no matter how many people are involved.

One fan should not be classed as “fans” but the defending of the comment by some on here is sickening.

The lad used a racist taunt about a 19 years old black lad who plays for us (I don’t condone it about an opposition player either).

Those who liked the comment saying there was nothing about it, just let that sink in, are you really that type of pure scum who thinks that’s acceptable.
Very well put

Can't believe Jardine said if the crowd were making monkey noises at a player it wouldn't offend him. I'd be fuckin ashamed and appalled, I really couldn't see myself going back to a game again.

At Bolton a few years ago a ginger goon started aborting kenwyne Jones shouting “nigger” at him.
I warned him that if he continued I’d throw him off the top tier.
He persisted and a scuffle broke out.
When the police and stewards came over ALL our fans rounded up defending my actions and he was removed.
My point being is it isn’t widespread. Only one or two absolute spnnners.

Remember that, good on you.

Only time I've heard anything like that tbf.
