Did Nicky Peng progress to a good 1st class careers?
Probably the classical example of how natural ability and the best possible coaching only take you so far. Without real desire and mental strength you don't progress to the top.
South African education isn't relevant when the discussion is about state and private education in the English system.

Maybe not at Durham, but it 100% is an issue at some other counties.

I would have local coaches who do the scouting and picking the county teams moved to other counties where they don't now who they are watching and then would have anonomous players with numbers not names so no scout/coach could find out who was at which school.

One year of that and I think we would immediately get more non private school kids selected.

He played 79 first class matches which is quite impressive for someone who retired at 25!

Good interview by Lord Patel he will be good for Yorkshire and his heart definitely in the right place. Couldn’t really give info on the likely sanctions to players guilty of racism whether the Ollie Robinson approach would be taken if they accepted they were in the wrong or whether more serious sanctions would take place. He couldn’t say at this stage about the futures of Moxon / Arthur
 
Although Racism isnt excusable i’d like to know the background of why a few people have alluded to rafiq being a right bad egg. Unless it’s to discredit him? Just so I can get a full picture of the scenario. Seems to be inoffensive enough on the face of it, i’d assume he was a lad who kept himself to himself??

I think that might be the issue certain people had with him. Us "quiet lads" are often misunderstood particularly in the world of team sports in Yorkshire

Funny thing a former England captain is accused of racism in 2009 which he denies, is taken off air and pilloried, yet in the same year a member of the royal family uses the P word, and nothing happens. Sponsors quit YCC quicker than a Tory donor gets a knighthood, yet the royal family sponsors (thats us tax payers ) continue to fawn over them like the unwashed over Bin Salman

You can water down what MV said if you wish. Whataboutery is shitIMO. If you want to start a thread about Tory donors or the royal family then there are other forums to do it. As far as I can see MV a right winger, anti immigration, someone who tweeted he would have to learn another language to be understood in London has been accused by two separate people about a racial slur and I know who I believe. He’s a nasty twat Vaughan.
