Race For Europe


See how we go Friday, hopefully Alderetes alright then we have virtually a full strength squad apart from the 2 new wingers. If we are going for Europe we need to win. This isn’t me getting carried away before anyone boots off, the players and manager clearly want to give it a go.

The amount of great moments we’ve had in the last 12 months. It’s almost like little baby Jesus is giving us a reward for putting us through the league one years.

Hopefully he is, but it seems to becoming not unusual where he appears to be a little bit injured then plays the next match as if nowt has happened.

We will have to win 3 of the last 5. Not impossible but tough. Winning yesterday would have made such a difference and put us in the middle of the Europa league debate. I think now it’s conference league or nothing and whilst being in Europe would be amazing I think that 3rd tier trophy is pretty underwhelming as can be seen by Palace being in the semis and favourites to win it but it gets little or no air time.

Cos it’s so tight, whoever gets in will have to put a bit of form in place. Chelsea at home could be huge for us. Like a cup final.

I fancy us against Man Utd & Chelsea cos it’s at home. I fancy us against Forest & Wolves. I’d take a point from Everton if offered now.

Not saying we’ll get 13 points, but we’ve got a chance & I think it’ll ultimately come down to our performances over these 5 matches.

I'd still expect them to get 6-7,I am hoping when they play NF and WHU those two are still requiring points to stay up.If Spurs don't beat wolves next up they have AV away after so 1 point from those two and they'ye likely gone if they aren't already.Id prefer a palace a win tonight,they have a hard run in are safe but will be more focused on their European semi,if we cannot finish above them then we certainly won't qualify for Europe IMO.
 
Didn’t Reggie say the three wingers will be back this week? Be nice options for the run it. Hopefully means ELF can move inside. Need 6 points next 2 games
 
Could do with results going our way mid week too.. we could be 6th come Saturday morning if so… massive

MU play Brentford at home next then Liverpool at home the game before us,win that those they're finishing 3rd or 4th and above Liverpool bar a disaster.They could be in holiday mood.Chelsea I reckon might put a shift in they're still in with a shout for CL but not it's only the other two competitions to play for,plus they could have an FA cup final on the horizon.They also have Liverpool away which will be massive.

I reckon the CL will be out of reach for Chelsea come the end of the season. They look really poor at the moment.
 
Mags are at Fulham last game,could quite possibly come to Fulham needing a win to get into Europe and keep us out,would they be screaming for Fulham? We could also be needing fulham to win to keep em below us if the Chelsea game/previous games haven't gone well.The scenario of us losing out on europe but finishing above them due to their inability to get a result v fulham would be interesting to say the least.
 
I'm still hurting from yesterday, never mind looking this far ahead. Think we will look back at villa with regret about europe massively come May.
