Quality or Quantity???

Of players who have played this season I expect Cirkin, Isidor, Geertruida to be gone. They will all need replacing directly.

We could use another centre half and another central midfielder.

I think Ta Bi is gonna be far more involved than people expect, he started a PL game pretty much as soon as he was fit, we obviously rate him.

Then it's just whoever else leaves unexpectedly imo.

In the Summer should Sunlund go for two or three Marquee signings as another huge flow of income arrives in TV revenue?? Perhaps if we cash in on Roefs Brobbey Sadiki then even more money to splash??

Though i am not advocating the sale of any of them, i would offer them improved contracts in the first instance.. However if some rumours prove to be true regarding those three leaving we could make some attractive bids for additions with the kind of money those sales would generate?

Maybe another option is to look for 5 or six more modest investments with potential in order to strengthen the Squad in most positions?? How many positions need cover?? Any names?
Exactly as we are the only difference would be a marquee signing striker. I’d rather have 2 less players but have a 40/50 million pound striker that can get us 15/20 goals. Genuinely think we’re good enough in every other position anyway. A striker a couple wingers n a full back and id be more than happy as long as no one left

Can see three possibly four going for big money.

That’s football, as long as we take their eyes out and reinvest with young future superstars, so be it.

The summer will depend where we finish

If we do happen to hit Europe we will need a squad to deal with it

For me though its a bout hopefully holding on to players this summer and adding 3-4 very good players

Why is everyone obsessed with selling our players 🙄
I think it’s a combination of the rumours flying about from lazy journalists, following a really good season, the fact, despite what we think, that we’re not one of even this league’s big clubs let alone the European elite, and should a club with money come in then we’d sell at the right price, and the fact that at our stage of development if a player has his head turned we couldn’t compete with a bigger club and who wants a disgruntled player in the dressing room. Personally I think it’s healthy if we have a bit of turnover, and it definitely shows prospective recruits that we’re a good stepping stone to the very very top clubs.

No need for an overhaul imo, we've got depth and a great blend of experience & youth in the squad. The main priority should be holding onto our stars and extending their contracts. A few players I can see leaving like Cirkin, Isidor maybe, Mundle on loan. I expect another Adingra situation when they player just doesn't fit/get games, but that's completely normal. 5 new signings costing under £100m in total should be about right.

This is where I disagree. We could blood some of the u21s squad for Europe, especially if its the conference league early rounds. Great way to keep a pathway to the first team

Quality doesn’t necessarily mean expensive though. Our best signings in the summer would likely be Xhaka, Mukiele, Sadiki or Roefs.

All 4 were at least 33% cheaper than Diarra was. We’ve also spent around £20m each on Angulo, Talbi & Adingra, all who’ve been inconsistent.

Xhaka isn’t going to be able to play every game next season, so someone who can understudy him is important. Then it’s about gradually improving the squad, a striker that’s better than Mayenda & Isidor for example.

That’s before we consider any sales who will need replaced.

Yes i think recruitment team will be very busy in the Summer but like last season i expect a lot of surprises. I think we will see a lot of changes to the Squad IMO

Bench has looked very light at times. Replace jones, cirkin, Isidor and probably gertruida. Plenty overhaul to do of the wider squad. Probably going to need to shop at home a bit to bring the home grown quota up. Find loan options for Jocelin, mundle and probably myenda.
Can say that again re. the bench. At times its practically been the Jones'

Quality over quantity.

Thing is with us now they will pretty much know who’s leaving and will have replacements already in mind. Unless an extraordinarily offer comes in for someone they will already have a good idea of what the team will be next season.

I think it’ll be a mixture again. Probably a couple that we know are coming in to start the majority of games then fill the squad depth a bit more probably with young players.

I don't think we're suddenly going to start making outrageous money signings because higher price tags don't necessarily translate into better signings (see Brobbey going for £20m in the same window as Woltemade for £70m, or any of the visitors' signings for that matter.)

If Roefs, Brobbey or any other first team star leaves, I hope and expect we'll replace them with the same 'profile' (young, early 20s, European football experience, ~£20m-ish). This is the way Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford have gone about establishing themselves.

We simply don't need to chuck £50m at a player for them to be a quality addition.

A PL ready, first 11 RW, a younger DCM to rotate with Xhaka, and a similar player for LB to rotate with Reinildo.
A striker to play alongside or rotate with Brobbey

That's 4 players I'd like to see us bring in, and considering our recruitment last summer, they wouldn't have to break the bank, so it wouldn't mean we'd have to sell to balance the books.
