Quality ball in


I’m not sure why we took 3 or 4 short set pieces. Hitting a rolling ball is far harder than a dead ball. And the free kick with 30 seconds to go was ridiculous I can’t imagine any other PL side wouldn’t put that straight in the mixer. A strange decision and that’s led by Xhaka even more baffling given his experience.
 
Totally agree. Our play in the final third, aside from Rigg's goal and the end of the game, was poor. Lots of aimless or over hit passes/crosses.

Something we can improve on.

We noticeably give away some of our defensive stability to get players further forward which was nice to see but got to be better in the final third.
 
Difference was one terrible CB who couldn’t defend them. Compare his positioning to Ballards on the Watkins chance where Ballard gets goal side, squares up the attacker and then moves away from goal and towards the ball to block it

Ballard clears goals 1, 2 and 4 today.
