All I’ve said is I agree with modern scientists that given all the current evidence, that the only conclusion available at this time is that the Earth is round.

They get the big money for a reason, they’re a lot more intelligent than me so I’m always going to agree with their opinion

There are levels of proof though and the point where something becomes irrefutable.

For example, scientists are not going to suddenly announce that trees are not solid as we thought. If they did and you ran into a tree, it would still hurt. We have proved beyond all reasonable doubt that trees are indeed solid.

It is the same with the earth being spherical. The first experiments were made based on observations when nobody had the ability to travel around the globe or step off it and look from distance. When they did, it went from being a pretty sound theory to absolute cast iron.

When you say that science has been wrong about things, I can not think of any theory in the last 200 years where they have been completely wrong and the opposite is actually true. Dark matter is perhaps one example of where we are not quite sure, physicists admit it is a fudge and that we either need better observations or to improve our theory of gravity. But even then if we make everything tally up, the theory will continue to evolve in the same direction.

The likes of Plinny and Aristotle were completely wrong about some things, but they were no really scientists by modern standards. Their ideas did not come from emperical evidence.

Most are not on that big money. People who work in science are not really the elite. A university researcher/lecturer will generally be in the £35-55k bracket.

Always find it weird people getting worked up by it. I don't think there's anyone, apart from the odd lunatic, that thinks it's flat. Seems a weird argument to get into.

As if by showing that you believe the earth is round you're some how scientific.
 
I'm old enough to remember when scientists lied about the probability of Covid being released from a lab, and labelled it a crazy conspiracy theory.
 
That is the problem with AI. It is now really easy for people to fake images to show real images are fake. They will probably lure in a lot more of the educationally challenged.

And of course the real motive of those behind is that they have monitised youtube videos they need people to click.
