I had a bloody cereal bowl with countries drawn on upside down on a plate of water at one point, he just wouldn't accept anything.

Just remembered I spent about an hour making thin strips of paper to scale to represent known distances between countries too

The other proof was in the word, horizon to mean of horizontal. He then went on to talk about the atmosphere.

I think the word atmosflat (and other variations) came about because of this thread, I seem to remember the joke going over his head.
