I think I have too many negatives in the above post which may make my statement of intent unclear. Let me make it clear. The earth is not flat.
 

The earth is round- that is a FACT.

in WW2 radar did not work over Germany due to the curvature of the earth .

So that is conclusive proof the earth is round.

You could have declared that on page one. It only kept going because of the fascination of us into the mad made ip science world of nukey. Shame he never produced his working world map.

Sorry but this thread has reached a natural point of closure given that the world is round.
 
This says far more about the human brain than it does about the earth. It says a lot about the shape the world is in that there are people dressing themselves in the morning believing the world is flat.

There are estimated to be 300,000 commercial pilots in the world, and several million private pilots. Since the invention of powered flight, tens of millions have learned to fly. Presumably all of them, at some stage in their training, are let into the secret that the earth is really flat so they don't need to keep dipping the nose to correct for curvature. And of all these millions, only one was prepared to share the secret, to a random stranger, with a 'knowing smile'.

For all those in on the secret, what's the benefit of keeping it a secret? What penalties are there for going public? Which international body is responsible for policing it?
