But walking pace man…..

Never figured out what he was talking about with that one, these walking pace rockets.

I think its because things that are far away look like they're moving slower. Like when a plane flies overhead it doesn't look like it's travelling at 400mph, or if you see an Intercity travelling down the tracks from a mile away it doesn't look like it's travelling at 100mph. Only true way to gauge speed is have something pass you from less than 10ft away

The rocket launches always look slow on screen and by the time they're up to speed there's nothing nearby so they still appear to be moving slowly. That launch this morning was the first time I'd noticed the commentary giving the speed, I think it was over 500kph after about 30 seconds or so

There is also the aspect that they start at 0kph and get to escape velocity. They do cross walking pace at some point. That is how acceleration works in standard physics using standard definitions. There are often other definitions (on this thread from a particular individual).

Exactly. When your car pulls away from traffic lights it starts off at walking pace, but that doesn't mean it's still going at walking pace when you're on the motorway.

I was going to post about that. Where do these rocks come from?

I suspect either lies, or ‘have you ever seen a meteorite land?’, or just vortex vibrations dense mass lupus canis refractions.
Blackhall?

Well, just a few weeks ago I saw everything but the landing.
