Put a flat earthier into space

You need to be careful Be here now will be after you for stealing his shit patter
"Why not just treat me for the person you think I am (nutter/idiot/troll/attention seeker or whatever floats your boat) and totally blank me?
If you don't then who is the attention seeker?"

Why does anyone lie?
People lie everyday to dupe others into a belief system of their making, whether it's a salesperson or news...etc....etc....etc.
There could be many many reasons why there's a lie but guessing which one would not be any easy task for us lot that are basically chewing up and swallowing storylines in abundance.

What if this Earth offers a lot more than we're told?
Getting told it's a ball in space pretty much ensures we've go nowhere else to roam, kind of thing. Maybe...or maybe not. Maybe other reasons.

So that's why you're lying to everyone on this thread about you believing this drivel? You're trying to dupe others into your belief system?

If an observer was a non committed sceptic then I think they'd acknowledge that at least NASA and the scientific community are putting in a bit of effort to convince with literally tens of thousands of these beautiful images.

By comparison the best the the flat earthers can come up with is a shoddy description of some sort of disc with a tupperware cover.

If both theories are bollocks, then on purely aesthetic grounds I'm plumping for the magnificent blue marbled globe as opposed to a giant cake stand.
The other thing to consider is that as home technology improves, those covering up "the lie" have to up their game. A few hundred years ago, the planets were just a bright dot in the sky that moved differently from the stars. Later with the advent of photography, professional setups could give greater detail of the likes of Juipter and Saturn. Photos were released to the public and yes they were asked to believe these fuzzy images were really like what they really looked like close up.

Then you had people like the Herschels who ground their own mirrors and made large scope for others and they could see these things for themselves, but perhaps those rich people were in on it too. The idea of nebula like what you posted was unknown and in the late 1700s, Charles Messier noted quite a few in his catalogue of annoying objects he could not explain, that could be mistaken for comets and needed to be discounted from comet observations. These days they are the defacto list of objects of really interesting things to look at in the night sky if you have a reasonable sized telescope.

These days, someone like myself can produce a decent image of Jupiter with a few hundred quid of equipment. Those who spend a couple of thousand can really produce some 'wow' pictures. If what is up there is faked then someone is putting a lot of effort into staying a step ahead of those in the western world who can buy decent equipment from a handful of specialist high street stops or on line.

It is easy for a flat earther to say "yeah fake" and our resident nutter even said above "night sky?" like that doubts there is a sky at night. WTF??? But when anyone who spends a few quid can look at this, you uncover a whole new level to the conspiracy. If this stuff has been faked for thousands of years, the secret society of fakers is spending masses of money keeping ahead of everyone else, right down to the general public. It starts to unravel into an incredibly complicated thousand year old global influencing society with the aim to go out and trick people for reasons we can't begin to understand.

I do think it is quite interesting to think of how a flat earth and a dome would work and how a conspiracy and cover up would work. In both cases, it just doesn't. Well the conspiracy would but with such levels of cooperation, planning and secrets it is just staggering. But then that is why the conspiracy nutters are quite guarded. Take the above example, attack the common accepted truth and repeatedly demand proof, but offer nothing in return. No shape, no map, no explanation, not even a hint. If there is nothing there, nobody can attack your model.

Same here. Asking questions is a sign of intelligence. We would not have developed to what we are now, if questions were not asked about the world around us and beyond.
Of course. Asking questions is not necessarily a sign of intelligence but it’s certainly a sign of inquisitiveness.
There’s a difference though between questioning something like a spherical earth which has been proven empirically for years and questioning where the best place in Durham is to eat which despite everyone’s best efforts has still never been answered satisfactorily.

Of course I know there are different types of questioning, I could not be boshed to explain because I thought what I wrote would be obvious of what type of questioning I meant. ;)

You really do need treatment.

People have no trouble believing in a god which has been passed down the years. However there are plenty that do not. Who is right?
Are we being duped or are there numerous gods for the religions.
If true then what is the purpose of god and how does anyone get real proof?
If it's a lie then how do people find out if it's a lie?

It comes down to your own senses. You either believe it for whatever reasons or you question it and refuse to believe it until you get some genuine evidence that can nudge you one way or the other.

It gets easier to sell fiction the more technology advances, not harder.

I do think it is quite interesting to think of how a flat earth and a dome would work and how a conspiracy and cover up would work.
Your mind is set on your own belief system which you follow the story of, like most do. Trying to get your head around anything else would be hard for you, obviously.
The dome is already covered up by the global model handed out to us all, so it's pretty simple and gets simpler as technology advances because CGI gets more realistic almost daily.

In both cases, it just doesn't. Well the conspiracy would but with such levels of cooperation, planning and secrets it is just staggering.
There's nothing staggering about any of it.

But then that is why the conspiracy nutters are quite guarded. Take the above example, attack the common accepted truth and repeatedly demand proof, but offer nothing in return.
Nothing needs to be offered in return.
If a story is told to be fact and people are coaxed into following that narrative and someone questions it asking for proof of the told facts, then real proof should be offered regardless of whether someone thinks there's another potential.

There's no real facts offered for any spinning globe except movies, CGI and all the rest of it.

No shape, no map, no explanation, not even a hint. If there is nothing there, nobody can attack your model.
There are maps but those maps of the known (to us) Earth terrain etc are sold as global maps, in my opinion.

Would you take the space trip, if offered, in order to satisfy your curiosity and to discover the truth for yourself?

No....but I would be quite happy to go and watch people go inside a rocket and blast off into what I'm told is space, as long as I could record every second of it all to make sure those people stay in and go into that sky like we are shown on the TV.

If I saw that happen I'd never question another thing.
