Pubs round or about Durham cricket ground

I'm heading to the 4th ashes test and looking for pubs to head to after the test.
 

The Rugby Club is open during and after every days play. It's just next to the ground, it's part of the Donald Owen Clarke centre which is opposite the groundsmans house.
 
The Wetherspoons called the Wicket Gate is worth a look if your totally stuck.

I am from Chester and have never heard of this? Any good? Where abouts?

I am hoping to get in Chester cricket club after play but reckon it will be members only

The Britania is right at the top of front street and will be 2 quid a night. Worth a look, decent place.

It's in that Donald Owen Clarke Centre which is opposite from the 'Scoreboard gate'. Think it's only open when they have rugby games on but they're opening for the Test apparently too.

There are around about 6 pubs within 200 yards of the top of Ropery Lane. All will be heaving no doubt. Plenty of choice.

chester cricket club not open to members only...open to all .... and open from 9 am each day ... 2quid to become member if you want to tho !

Brilliant mate. I go all the time when back, I knew it wasn't just for members just thought as they were so busy they may have been but tougher

Give over, Durham is not the best place to drink. There are some canny pubs right at the top. Can't wait.
