If XhaKa performed liked Tonali did on Sunday, he wouldn't leave the house for a fortnight through embarrassment!

Can’t really argue with that. He said in his post match interview that he learnt a lot from Xabi Alonso in Germany. Add to that the fact he’s matured into a superb captain and is currently one of if not the top performing midfielder in the Premier League. The current version of Xhaka is prime Xhaka if that’s relevant to your argument.
Stuck togetherTonali had posters of Xhaka in his room
This is enough to sum it upTwo good players, we're happy with ours, they're happy with theirs

That's before we starting comparing "prime" Xhaka.
Let's leave it at that![]()
I know for a fact Xhaka is better though. Even though I've seen Tonali play approximately three times, if he played in that cup derby. At the end of the day, Mags fans will think Tonali is better and we’ll think Xhaka is better. So what difference does it make.
Fuck me...Xhaka is comfortably better than all 3 of Newcastle's midfield, even now at 33. In his prime no contest at all it would be like comparing a top 4 Premier league player with a Championship plodder.
I saw one guy in Facebook arguing that Tonali was better than any player at Sunderland for the last 30 years or so.Debate at mates wedding on Sunday.
Obviously Newcastle fans haha. Granted I’ve barely watched the latter play, but I was certain they’re being deluded?
