One was telling me earlier that we wouldn't even have a shot against them in the derby because of Big Dan Burn
I may have reminded him that West Ham slotted 3 goals past them...

Personally while sat watching some of the shite served up to us in league one I would never in a million years have sat in the stadium and imagine one day soon we’ll have Xhaka bossing our midfield and scoring a goal to take us to 4th in the premier league.
Couldn’t give 2 fucks about Tonali I’m just here to enjoy the good times while I can.

Watch all Italy games and a lot of seria A. Tonali’s a talent, best Italian midfielder. Derbys gunna be a cracking game if they are both on it.
The way him and Sadiki did against Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez though gives me massive confidence

I keep on seeing people refer to Tonali and Guimarães as "world class", but more often than not when I watch Newcastle they get completely overrun in midfield.
Tonali is a classy footballer but pretty easy to dominate. Guimarães is probably the better of the two but a bit indisciplined - spends more effort trying to win free kicks than doing much of merit. Pretty typical of the type of player the mags tend to hero worship - the type who look great on YouTube but go missing in tight games.
So it depends on what you're comparing. Not sure if Xhaka would beat Tonali in a keepy-uppy competition, but anyone who knows anything about football would say that Xhaka has a more telling contribution to the teams he plays for.

To be honest it got me thinking about Dan Burn. Then the thought crossed mind that in all truth you could make a case that due mainly to fantastic recruitment we now may have 4 better centre halfs than him!

Tonali’s superb and so is Xhaka. If I was the Mags I’d say Tonali but I don’t watch Xhaka enough; if I’m us I’m saying Xhaka but I don’t watch Tonali enough. Seems like they’re of a similar level.
