*~*~* Preston v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

f***ing hell. You’re clueless. Keep refusing to accept reality.

I can guarantee RLB is very happy with his performances.
Exactly. He started the season an iffy but to say 3 assists since the last international break and playing his part in a rearguard effort with 10 men is “out of form” then we should be greatly encouraged.

He’s a boo boy simple as that. The boo boys will say “he give the ball away man” Well, he’s the one tasked with playing forward and therefore higher risk. Secondly. His stats don’t back them up at all. So it’s a bias thing. Which is sad tbh. If I was Dan I’d be tempted to just leave and forge a very decent career elsewhere with less pressure.

Watson looks like our star man alongside Rigg.
Two things concern me

1. You judge a manager when things are going bad not good, otherwise Steve Bruce would be world class. That team needed changing far earlier than it happened. You bring Mayenda on for game time when 2-0 up, not chasing the game. Also annoyed Tommy didn't get a chance in his actual position.

2. The last two performances have been Dodds like, and every time the camera went to the bench he was gobbing off to everyone. I honestly hope he is not gaining influence on match day team decisions.
Can’t agree there mind. Thought the lad struggled but as Zeb noted he was playing on the “wrong” side.

I noticed the Dodds giving everyone an ear bashing and my thoughts went in the same direction as yours.

@Becs seen your shout out in the last match btw, cheers. By 3pm I was hungover AF and people were already bickering over whether or not to bicker so I didn't really check in, how did it go generally would you say? 🫣
This was one of the games of all time, but the fact that the players, manager, and fans, are all disappointed we're only 4 points ahead of 3rd, is f***ing fantastic.

He’s not good enough
He's captain of the team top of the league and the manager plays him every minute.

I think the manager knows a bit more than the arseholes on here.
What a bunch of miserable ***** this "fan" base is

Top of the league and still toxic
For once I agree with this knacker.
Especially the abuse Dan Neil gets when he's done fuck all wrong, clueless.

We won’t know if he isn’t playing in the position where he’s one of the stand-outs in PL2
His positioning wasn’t the problem. He’s soft as fuck as just got rolled off the ball so easy. He needs to go out on loan and toughen up a lot if he’s going to succeed

You’re wasting your time. Plenty on here just want to boo him because he’s a local lad. There’s absolutely nothing to underpin their position, other than a slow start to the season. They need to accept that every player will have a period this season where they’re out of form and playing shite. Neil’s done more than enough good stuff for us over the last 3-4 years to deserve more than a bit of slack

Still bickering mate

The boo boys will be rubbing their hands at a potential draw/loss on Saturday
For comparison

Three years ago today

Sunderland lost 1-0 at home in the first round of the FA Cup to League 2 Mansfield in front of just 8,260 people

Fast forward three years later

Sunderland sit top of the Championship, four points ahead of third place meaning at the final international break of the year we are guaranteed to be in top 2 at least and took almost 5,700 on a midweek trip to Preston with a lot of the roads closed

Yes last night was not a good performance at all but the way some on here went on as if we had gone into relegation zone

Not in the business of “happy clapping” and if someone isn’t good enough they aren’t good enough but I don’t get why people don’t want him to do well either and always spin a negative.

Point away from home is a good one mate👍

I suppose you could look it that way I do concede. But it became apparent early on what our primary aim was once we reached Full Time. Just avoid losing to Preston North End. Stop them from winning. Stop them from scoring. Any idea of winning the game or getting points ourselves just went by the wayside. I suddenly was about them and not us. I am more happy they didn't win than the fact we didn't lose.

I think you’ll find we do want him to do well & he gets credit when he’s played well , the problem on here is you can’t call him out for having a bad game or comment on his poor form
The drama queen fan boys piss their pants

Do they make the centre mids be able to pass the ball ? And take a set piece ?
Im just saying it's more of a poor team performance.

The centre mids did look crap and their passing wasn't as slick as it has been, i just feel like they had little to pass to in the first half, and because the ball wasn't sticking up top, they never got the chance to advance up the pitch. That let Preston press the centre mids harder and we ended up retreating back to the keeper and hoofing long balls (which Preston were winning for fun).

You can. If you’re constructive and accurate. What people on here do is call him a shit player, say he’s not good enough for the Championship and should be peddled. That’s unbelievably stupid.
