*~*~* Preston v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Neil getting stick again and can’t judge because I haven’t seen the stream.
You would have thought though playing the role as the defensive midfielder protecting the back four and nine clean sheets in 14 games, there must be something he’s doing right.

Terrible performance, couldn't see any direction or game plan.

If you're going to play Tommy at least put him in his proper position man.

We will find it harder against the teams at the bottom with nothing to lose than the teams at the top with everything to lose.

Every team will have a few bad performances. Taking a point away is never that bad. We will win Satda and be still top going into the break. Missed jobe tonight but he’ll be back stronger than ever.

Second no score draw if that's our drop off in form I will take it, but we need to get back winning as well, also the captain looks rank average for a few games now, perhaps a rest and a reset is needed, hr obviously has a weight on his shoulders

Point and clean sheet away from home and people are moaning, how far we’ve come
I think people are comparing us to our standard of play first 6 matches. Cant string a decent attack together last 3 games. No quality on the bench.

Like QPR it was a dreadful performance, looking nothing like a promotion winning team.
Poor but still keeping the clean sheet and getting a point. I would argue its that kind of performance, aslong as it isnt every week, that keeps you up there

Southampton went up last season and we battered them 5-0 early in the season. Its still early days and we have ballard patterson bellingham to return in coming weeks (potentially with ballard as mepham onein been strong, but does give a back 3 option) we have aleksic to bed in and for some reason rested roberts and mundle tonight so assume they will be back in next week

Overall we could argue we were missing 4 or 5 starters today and we went away and got a scrappy draw. Not much to write home about but not the end of the world either

A few poor referee decisions but ultimately should be doing better, we need to be making more chances.

Really need to be at least scoring against Coventry, don’t want to be going into the international break without scoring in 3

Last two games against bottom 5 clubs - no score draws.
Still it's 2 points to add to the total & two clean sheets & we stay top 🤷‍♂️
Looks like Millwall are progressing to join the fray at the top
