Prem Update

It's pretty obvious the premier league is lightyears above the championship, look at how much Burnley, Sheff United and Luton are struggling this season, at least two of them are coming straight back down. As good as we have been this season we wouldn't stand a chance in the Premier league with this current squad.
Its pretty obvious the premier league is just about money. Look at Newcastle who just about dodged demotion by the skin of their teeth before the money arrived. The prime reason for the gap is money . Football is not a fair sport any more. Even when the clubs below have good recruitment or find a top coach they get poached.

0-1 against ten men a long season ahead.
pros: haven't spent a fortune so parachute payments will stand the club in good stead

Promised you my opinion so for what its worth as we say up here "all fart and nee shite"
Sorry mate but unless you start taking chances in these games against teams likely to be around you your knacked.
But you already knew that.
Yep, although I thought we were better than Wolves for the majority of the game.

1 point closer to the mythical 11 points.
Just seen Lockyer's defending for the Wolves goal
It was poor. Shame as he is a decent pro but frightening what the likes of Salah etc could do to him.

Football has been about money for the last 30 years , in general the teams with the most money do well. Mike Ashley had a net spend of about 50 pence at Newcastle so they were always going to struggle .

Just seen the pen for them . Disgusting decision by the referee. They even had a chance to realise what a monumental error the ref made by using VAR. And they still fucked it up.

The cross in by the Luton player was heading for the other side of the ground by the looks of it n all .

just like with Wolves v Man Utd & there cock up

officials make a Rod for their own backs at times

Watched 3 premier league games yesterday and the quality isn’t better like defending isn’t 100% better. 😂 trying to make the league sound harder than it is.

Was a 100% clear and obvious error hate this unnatural position. Unless it’s snapped, dislocated or puts you in agony in the play it’s natural.

If they do that without any intention of staying up and keeping costs low just for PL money then they should be stripped of parachute payments. It’s a form of cheating that if you ask me.

I could not disagree more with that mate. With the squad and facilities we have I think we’ll do okay. Of course might need a couple of additions.
With how young our squad is, with little to no prem experience in it. I think we would be cannon fodder for most teams in the prem. It is a massive step up fron championship to prem due to sone of the average teams being able to spend big money due to the TV money on offer. Hope im wrong but thats just how i see it atm. Bit like too good for the championship but not good enough for the prem

Emphasis on the "just". It is the sole driving motivation to exist from year to year. Who has the highest net spend. Who has the highest transfer fees. Who has the highest wage outlay. But with the money comes the status. The profile. You don't get signed for £20/30/40m and not attract the attention of the media and press who fawn over them and talk about them like they are the greatest thing ever. As well as those in the industry of marketing, promotion and advertising of course. The top players especially all seem to be treated almost like celebrities. Look at how they treated players like not just Christiano Ronaldo when he was in his first spell with Manchester United but also players like Theo Walcott when he burst on the scene or Jamie Vardy or Harry Kane. They are famous first and paid, professional football players second.
