Predict a signing

Harvey Elliott. He's the type I think we'll look at. Lost his way a bit but obviously there's a player in there and he's a good age. Bit of a Pritchard type of signing. A lot of our fanbase would be underwhelmed but could prove to be an astute acquisition.

Wan Bissaka? I always thought he excelled as a wing back for his athleticism and crossing but was susceptible at the back.

His FotMob stats seem to indicate he dribbles and crosses a lot and a slightly (above)average defender?
You’re right, he’s wrong.

Wan Bissaka was originally a winger so it’s the defensive side of his game that he has had to develop…which he has done and he has become a good player

Ellborg likely to be the number one if/when Roefs leaves? Young then the future number 1 and Patterson number 2 if he doesn’t get a move away?

The 3rd choice being an older GK seems a fashionable choice for squad building with most teams, as with ours.
He did well when called upon and will make a profit more than likely. A homegrown no2 makes a lot of sense though.

Homegrown players and u21s are needed to expand the squad. I’d be asking Arsenal about Nwaneri. Or maybe just go get Amad.
Speakman & Ghisolfi were never going to work together but I wouldn't have minded keeping Harvey on with a remit of finding Homegrown players for the u21's who can effect the 1st team on top of the top talents from the academy.
Ellborg was a pointless signing. Cant get my head around it.
I know what you mean. Having a foreign 2nd keeper seems a waste of a place.
I wonder if we might convince Patto to stay & be 2nd choice next season, be part of the euro campaign by being one of our 4 academy players needed in the euro squad. Then send Ellborg to the Championship for the season. I can see why they've taken a chance on Ellborg but he looks nowhere near being a potential Roefs replacement 'yet'

If Roefs gets injured your cunning plan screws us. I'd rather have Simon Moore in goal. Patto is done at this level.

Young is better than Ellborg - so is Patterson to be fair
I think Patterson is better than both right now because of his experience but he's not getting any better. Young & Ellborg 'might' (get better) & it's highly likely they will. Both look like they have the potential to have better careers. It's all about that potential, Young & Ellborg have plenty, Patterson has peaked.

Is he that bad? I think he's a top end Championship/prem back up level keeper & would happily have had him step in when Roefs was injured last season. Obviously if Roefs was long term injured we'd be screwed but the same can be said of any of our top players

I could have saved Gelhardts goal for Hull and I'm 55 and got crabsticks for arms. Patterson is an average Championship goalkeeper.
