I accept that there is probably an excessive amount of abuse directed towards Poveda. On the other hand, he is effectively taking something for nothing from the club and, by extension, the supporters. He is clearly not able to do the job for which he is employed, no matter what the reason for that, so people will naturally object and react ungraciously when they see that happening. Nobody in "real world" employment would be allowed to produce nothing and still expect to be paid in full.

I'm not sure your reasoning stands. The club recruited him to do a job. He got injured whilst doing that job. Now he's available to play, but the club have decided they don't want to use him. It's not Poveda's fault we gave him a 3 year contract then chose not to play him.
