Can't be 11 unless Forest win the EL

We want to hope it's at least 9(maybe 10 if Palace win UECL)

If Villa finish 5th and win EL and
City win the FA Cup. Then the below happens

6th gets CL. 7th and 8th get EL

9th gets Conference League.

I'm sure i've read that financially you are actually worse off qualifying for the conference league as you suddenly have to comply with UEFA's financial rules which are more strict that the premier league. So your spending despite finishing in a european place is more restricted.

Having said that though, any premier league side in the conference league should at the very least be getting to the semi finals. It's a very realistic chance to win a trophy

Agree on a general footballing point. It's largely spoilt a wonderful competition until it reverts to type in the very late stages of the tournament. The quarter finals were decent and would have been better if some of the first legs weren't so one sided.

From a selfish point of view it brings the bar lower for qualification for us so I'll live with it šŸ˜

Yeah its mental but they are ( generally ) not from the same season. Things can change dramatically in just a few months ...weeks even......just look ( and laugh ) at the Mags

We played more games in the Championship, and our squad wasn't even anywhere near the level it is now and that's without the summer window to add more players/quality.

I think clubs that use european games as an excuse usually get what they deserve.

It just seems that a lot of teams who aren't in that big 4 generally struggle with the fixtures and add that qualification next year reduces what we can actually spend this summer.

aren't we getting 5 CL spots anyway ? So Villa don't need to win Europa as the current top 5 will be the top five : better that Forest win it to nacker them again next season .

Palace must get into something if they win the Conf ?

To be fair, the vast majority of the Premier League should be getting into some form of Europe really; just make it that the Champions League is still limited; if there was more teams in the likes of the Conference League it might actually make it more interesting. Same rules for the other big leagues.

Yeah we get 5 CL spots due to the extra one for England teams performance in Europe this season being in the top 2.

But if Villa finish 4th and win the EL the Premier League doesn't get a 6th CL place.

But if they finish 5th which is the extra spot place and win the EL then the PL gets a 6th CL place.

As the 5th place team is qualifying via the performance spot. If they win the EL they qualify for the CL that way and supersedes qualifying via 5th place. It's the same as if the FA Cup and League Cup winners have already qualified for Europe that place goes to the League

So I'd rather a chance of the CL as we can still finish 6th. Forest ain't beating Villa anyway.

Palace get the Europa League Group stages if they win the UECL.

Nope only if they finish 5th and win CL same as Villa if they win the EL and finish 5th.

England could have had 7 in the CL if Liverpool had won it and finished 7th and Villa won EL and finished 5th.
