Neither us nor Portsmouth went up last season as a result of the EFL Trophy. That I think played some small part. Extra games in a league of players not accustomed in my opinion to fighting on so many fronts and perhaps not at a level of fitness to mount a successful promotion campaign and an EFL Trophy campaign can I think be detrimental to League One and League Two clubs.
