30 seconds prior to the smoke bomb coming down there was a 3 year old sat in the seat that the bomb struck. You’ll struggle to get any sympathy on here, could have been a very different outcome today. The bomb made a real noise and impact when it hit the seat and the floor, so wouldn’t have fancied a young child’s skull against it. Yes it’s one idiot, but it’s one idiot too many, and the mockery from your fans from above and the booing when the referee paused the game doesn’t help the animosity, especially considering the events of Coventry a fortnight ago. Someone will get killed or seriously injured if these events keep continuing, unfortunately it seems like that’s what it’s going to take for someone to take it seriously - the lad was arrested but he’ll only be charged with some social disorder and released with a caution - not near enough to be honest and needs an example set against him.

Because you come across like you have a god given right to be up there because you get big crowds . That clearly doesn’t make you any bigger than us atm . Nobody likes clubs like that , have some empathy . So many threads I have read on here saying it’s every teams cup final etc etc . That’s not a big clubs language , that’s small time thinking . The problem is we are the big boys in the division & everyone wants to beat us , fair enough , we have to deal with that

That isn't 6 years though is it...and its a bit worse in a confined bar area full of customers because it's more of a fire hazard.

Also there's a few posts on here having a go at normal away fans for not intervening with idiots who are misbehaving. People using terms like us North East folk wouldn't have them behave like that. It's a load of shit. Been to plenty away games and seen our fans misbehave and throw stuff etc and for the most part nobody tried to stop them. The reality is that every club has its minority of idiots who want to act like twats and cause trouble. Just so happens that after years of austerity and the social divisions being created within society, there is a lot more general anger and will mean more trouble at football games in my opinion.

We are getting 40,000 to games in League 1, how is that not humble? If we were so high and mighty in our minds nobody would bother going to watch us play little clubs.

It's your lot who've had your big day out and decided again to act like a bunch of animals at one of the friendliest awaydays in the league. No bar in Sunderland has an away fan ban, you're welcome in the fanzone, even welcome on here as long as you're not a wanker.

Opposing managers have referred to games at the SOL as their clubs ‘cup final’ though, it’s not some mystical notion cooked up on the SMB.

You’re a bit of a thick wanker but I’ll try and get through to your tiny brain to explain the the “every team’s cup final” line.

This is based on a factual analysis of other team’s raising their games to play us and then losing their next game...just check how Peterborough did as a quick example.

If you think about it we’ve done a big favour to Luton and Barnsley.

Hopefully you reap what you sew and the flare incident will come back against your team in a flukey win to us in the playoffs.
