There was a thread on here about 10 years ago - similar incident at the Orange call centre in Peterlee.

I remember during the 90s someone had left a 'suspicious' package in the library one night during a gig. We were on the brink of calling the police when the then Borough librarian, somewhat pissed, came along and gave it a kick. It ended up in lost property iirc.
