Surely the transport police just arrest people when they get off the train?

They police the rail network quite an important bit of infrastructure. Are you suggesting anyone can/should be able to do it?

Get what you are saying marra but surely if we want cops to be as fit as poss when coming to us to help when needed -they like Fire people should be given equipment - and time -to train ?
Say someone’s nicking something from my house -as a 60 plus year old I want someone turning up who can handle /chase and catch them ?

This is what most cops and the fed state. Most forces dont budget and any gyms in stations are funded by cops themselves or donations of kit made.

My words were in jest. But in all seriousness maybe the skills female officers could bring to the role offset those lost by poorer shuttle run performance.
