*~*~* Plymouth v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

We nearly went down last season ! if it wasn't for another decent start... The trouble with happy clappers is you can't seem to differentiate the difference between the canny lads who go to the match for the drink and the group of fans who actually want us to succeed and I have seen people like you throughout my life.
Wtf! You have lost the plot

So the canny lads don’t want us to do well?

If one defeat and four wins in five is our “real form” we are in for a very good season.

You just want to discount the good start and focus on today because it backs up what you already believe. It’s a disordered way to look at the world and explains why you seem absolutely batshit,

I’ve never once been called a happy clapper on here.
I was replying to you saying promoted teams get at least a point when they play badly.

Agree, in a way it might not be a bad thing to get beat, think the new manager is doing brillantly well and they are working much better as a team. My neighbour's son went down and left at 3 o'clock this morning, first time he has been able to get an away ticket and had a great time. Allez Le Bris 🇫🇷 😎 Onwards and upwards 🙌 👍

We had been heading for doing precisely that until the 93rd minute. Then they take a 30 yard pot shot at goal, Patterson has a mare and palms it straight into the path of a right back who walked past 2 of our players to score. It was a completely avoidable cluster fuck.

and Neil should have done far more to prevent the shot in the first place

Do you really think so? I'd imagine that having pulled us back level, 30 yard shots would be the least dangerous option. The whole scenario was just so unlikely to result in a goal, and yet here we are! I mean, Neil himself is about 25 yards out from goal.
Well, letting someone have a free dig in extra time isn’t the greatest idea imo mate

It's too early to say what our real form is until about a 3rd of the way in. Great start but that's all it is atm.

Oh, the drama of this. We were in 6th after 31 games on 47pts - that had nothing to do with the start (after five games we were in 9th). If we'd only taken four points from our remaining 13 games we would have stayed up. We were never in danger of going down and eight teams finished worse than us. There were reasons for our poor performance over the last 15 games that have all been addressed, which is why we're off to the start we are having this year.

I liked RLB’s take on it after the match. We lacked control and made mistakes that we hadn’t made previously. The most important thing is to identify and correct those things so we end up stronger for it having happened.
