Not saying we are signing him, but if we were going to do t wouldn't have happened / been announced yet. No reason to pay his wages over the summer. Do it a month later instead and give him the money back in sign on but a slightly lower wage.

Easy this.

There'll be plenty, in Prem and in Europe. With his pedigree I reckon he'd have a pick of decent clubs after him.

I'd like us to keep him, but the stumbling blocks will be he wants too much money or he wants guaranteed mins. So if we don't keep him for those reasons, I'm alright with that.

Are we saying RB Leipzig pay better than we do ? Or have they just overpaid for this lad ? Generally you wouldn't go all-in on a player then loan him out afer one season ?

There's a lot to be said for our model of buying potential at around the £20m mark then letting them play their way to big transfer and big wages elsewhere

No idea tbh. There's rumours on here he's one of our highest paid players as we matched his salary there, but that could (likely is) based on nothing at all.

I don't think it's an us vs Leipzig question so much as a core first team player salary vs important squad team player salary within our structure. If he wants to be 3rd highest in whole squad (as rumoured, again, coups be bullshit) but isn't guaranteed a start, that's where it's an issue.

This is where loans are dangerous. We're gonna have to spend money to stay the same as we were last season either way here, whether keeping him or replacing him in the squad.

Agree, and I prefer Mukiele at cb personally. But just think once Ballard returns and we sign a right winger Rlb has proven over the course of the full season he prefers them two at right back unfortunately.

Nowhere near as much money in the German League. Would be surprised if we could not match his salary. Two months ago I was not fussed whether he stayed or not. But his performances in the last few games have convinced me we should try to keep him.
