Has anyone looked at how many times he's played with Hume in support? Did this set up enhance his performances? How many clean sheets have we kept when he's played (Or started) without Hume?His best ever season was at RB, his best games for us were at RB, the position he plays for Netherlands is RB. He might want to accept he's a damn good RB.
Hands up I haven't delved into it too much but it might be interesting to see how much Hume's support has helped, or hindered him. Not sure if it's a fact but a mate of mine reckoned we've never kept a clean when he's played without Hume.
TBF I'm not sure this has even happened over a full game.

Asking him to consider a pay cut. Wonder how we'll feel if Newcastle jump in and sign him? No brainer to get him back. Unlucky to miss the World Cup, quality player. Fuck pissing around over a few dollars.

The wage bill needs headroom to bring 6-8 quality players in, the dead wood will only free up so much space and Gertys wages would probably cover 6-8 of those players leaving.
The lad should be a starter (our form improved when he came in at the end) for us but Regis might still favour Hume over him.

Mukiele is clearly the best RB at the club
Gerty is very very good but Nordi is better

Dint agree agree mukiele best position is centre back he does have the defensive disipline to play right back he gets caught upfield too Much and offers us pace so we can play a higher line at centre back .

After this season's signings he might only be 7th or 8th highest paid and that doesn't sound too bad. It's a reasonable transfer fee.

I like him and i want him to sign but he will be on more wages than Ballard and Hume so unless they increase their wages to match will only lead to disharmony in the ranks .You might say it wont? but its Hunan behaviour 101 if your a first choice player and a colleague who isnt is on more coin than you im sure it would rankle. We have to have a lean squad where every penny is efficiently used im just not sure if the sums add up as his actual cost to the club might be more than his fee and wages! Did i say hope he signs but that might be a recency bias on my part as a fan looking on and the club might be looking for someone as good but cheaper.

That's probably where we are at with him, want to sign him but on a lower wage, he's waiting to see if anybody will pay more.

Ah. I’d heard they had him on standby in case Timber turned out to be injured, but that was before the CL final, I think. Maybe his end of season form has caught everyone unawares.
