Planning a weekend

Evening all

Trying to plan a bit of weekend away for me and our lass (no). Nothing fancy and staying in the UK.

She likes the idea of taking the car and just doing things spontaneously. So far we are going to drive to the Forresters Arms in Kilburn, near Helmsley, on the Friday night. I’ve stayed there before, the ales are lovely and the food is excellent.

After that I’m a bit stuck on where to go and what to do. Probably staying in the Yorkshire area.

Any suggestions on what to do on the Saturday, where to stay Saturday night and what to do Sunday?

I expect the odd good idea along with the usual SMB hilarity.

Do that.
 
Gan to whitby. There's loads of little boozers with digs above, always live music, sea shantys echoing down little ally ways, take a walk along the peir or along the beach or upto the Abbey in the middle of the night, class brewery/bar next door to the Abbey. Or walk down to boggle hole and see if they have room at the hostel. Mad little place that.

Wouldn't be the first time your lass has been out in a car at night doing something spontaneous. #doggingqueen
 
robin hoods bay, book into a b&b or pub, theres a few good restaurants, live music on at the dolphin, then have a day in whitby on sunday.
 
Leeds is very nice. Some upmarket bars like Angelica’s (rooftop terrace), The Alchemist , Botanist if you want a drink.
Loads of good shops for your Mrs as well.
