If it pitches outside leg and hits outside off, it's definitely not hitting the stumps.....
You knar what I mean!!
It's stupid how pitching outside leg or hitting outside off cannot be given out if it was going to hit the stumps.
Couldn't resist.
Pitching out side leg is an essential rule IMO, change and there's nothing to stop quicks going round the wicket and aiming for the legs.
Surely all it would take would be for a batsman to take a guard on leg stump. Just think there's far too many things in batters favour.... Often get told its a batsman's game.
Just imagine someone like Malinga coming round and going wide, you'd have to take guard about a foot outside of leg stump.
Agree with the OP but should not count around the wicket. If that rule change came in watch how the game would change. Would be a lot of Ashley Giles bowling. Not a good thing to see.
You'd turn test matches into t20sAye, maybe. Still though, one or two exceptions but in the main I think it'd make a more exciting contest between bat and ball.
Probably more like being able to barge keepers into the net. Silly suggestion. This is one of the must ludicrous suggestions I have ever heard. Akin to football going back to 2 points for a win and allowing back passes again!
Where exactly is he supposed to keep his legs, except on the leg side? The bowler knows they're there before he lets go of the ball. That's why you can be out padding up outside off stump, it's a deliberate action.I'm with the OP here. If it's going to hit, then the batsman is blocking using something other than his bat. And it should be out.

However you should be out after a nick if the ball would still have hit the stumps but your pad is in the way. In return, bat pad catches maybe shouldn't count.
Assume wrong then. Why should you be saved from LBW by a snick so fine that it needs a heat camera to see the mark on the bat? Why would it be a whooosh? The rules of any game can change. The LBW law changed loads of times.Assume this is a whooosh!

f***ing shite rules IMO. To me, if it's hitting the leg before the wicket, what should it matter?
And I'm a batsman.
