The players wanted to celebrate with the fans, do you think Cirkin should be given a lifetime ban for jump into the stands?
I didn't go on the pitch, but the way you're going on like a retired traffic warden, saying it ruined your night is way more cringeworthy than a few kids running on the pitch.

The thing is though, the Burnley pitch invasion v Sheff U was similar - loads on it and no one injured (although the opposition took more flak than Coventry did from our lot).
Even in that case, lifetime bans were issued to everyone identified running onto the pitch - it might have set a precedent.

I was at Luton that night too. It was pathetic what their fans did and makes you wonder what the outcome would have been if the Coventry fans had been pitch side.Absolutely pathetic behaviour from anyone who went on the pitch to be honest. The inability for fans to just stick off the pitch (especially post-Covid I reckon) is insane.
I’m glad the majority were clever enough not to do it. It allowed all of us to celebrate with the players.

As for those who went up to the opposition. As someone who stood there after Luton fans invaded the pitch and ran straight to our fans - I’ll never stop thinking it’s the saddest existence going when your team have won a semi-final and are off to Wembley but your more arsed about the opposition and having a dig. Pathetic people.

Not really. It was the club that banned them. It's only set a precedent at Burnley FC. SAFC aren't bound to follow anything they do. I doubt the club will impose any bans, if anything it will be the police.

44 injuries and 25 taken to hospital in Hamburg on Saturday. If some do it now, then more do it next time more and then loads do it so it needs to be stopped before owt happens. There's at least 2 knackers going up to Lampard with phones in hand and others have said about fans going towards Coventry fans. Given the amount of advertising hoardings around pitches then one of those falling over could knack a bairn if they're on it when it goes over.

In fact I remember Burnley fans knocked a whole load over just recently against Sheff Utd. They also went at Wilder and Sheff Utd players. Too many mood hoovers in this thread as we should let the idiots spoil it for the majority and who cares if owt happens to opposition players/manager/fans or people get injured. Let them have their 5 mins with their phones so they can show their mates the videos while the rest of the ground waits to celebrate properly with the players.

There was a pitch invasion at Bradford final day of their season, after they secured automatic promotion with an injury time goal. Thousands were on there. Don’t think any charges were brought against anyone.

Rightly, or wrongly, spectators running on the pitch is a criminal offence (a fair few of our less celebrated former players appear to have thought the 'no running on the pitch' rule applied to them, too). Anyone who has been to more than a couple of games must know that, surely, so any adverse personal outcome is on them.
There are magnitudes of offence, ranging from spilling onto the fringe of the pitch when a goal is scored to running the length of the pitch to confront oppo (be they fans, players or staff). As long as punishment is based on severity of infraction, rather than arbitrary or blanket responses, I'm fine with those responsible being held responsible. If the club do nothing, the club will be punished. What would we rather... that the club pays for supporters misbehaviour or that the offenders do?
