Bit of a puff isn't he? Proper hypochondric......the Harry Kewell of cricket

"I'm not fully fit yet, I've got to get myself back into the swing of things.
"I'm targeting the game against Cambridge next week but I've got to do a few fitness tests before that."
Pietersen has begun netting with Surrey in a bid to take his place in the England side for the first Test against Sri Lanka in Cardiff, which begins on Thursday, 26 May.
"I want to get some time in the middle and some fielding overs in my legs. You can't just go out and play in a Test match," said the former Nottinghamshire and Hampshire man.
"It will just be nice to put some whites back on and to think about cricket. If I get some (runs), I get some. If I don't, I don't.

"It's getting that mental process right and getting some overs in my legs in the field so I don't wake up the next morning lethargic and sore. I want to get all that out the way so that I'm ready for the first Test match."

I can't see what he has said wrong at all, he is talking about his recovery like anyone else would. As long as he opens his mouth he will get criticism for anything it would seem.

Why would he talk about Surrey he is first choice in all forms of the game for England and will play 49days worth of cricket for England in 114days so where will he have time to play for Surrey?

He talks as if he's not bothered about getting runs for Surrey in the games he's about to play in as it's just about getting rythmn in time to play for England.

one he is playing a friendly so if you can't get some batting practise in these type of games then when can you? two he is playing down the fact he will under pressure to get runs. Three he is excited to be back playing and with his first proper game back more than likely being for England surely this is what he should prepare for.

England first County second it has and will always be the way and tbf the county abide by that and help as much as possible.

Depends on the question he was asked as well though surely?

On a slightly different note I've just read that since Pietersen lost the captaincy in early 2009, he averages 23 in ODI's

And people complain about Cook, Bell and Trott being in the team
