Does anyone really believe this?

talkshite were reporting andy flower would resign if pieteresen remained with the team.. surely if this was how he felt then kp would have been dropped ahead of root.
 

Before the last test or do they mean for the upcoming series? If it's the former, then no I don't believe it. If it's the latter then it's maybe believable except if there was anything up I expect Pietersen would have told the world about it on twitter before Talksport heard about it.
 
Whoever falls on his sword clearly someone has to. You cannot just walk away from Australia and pretend that it didnt happen and alls well with the world. What is it einstein said, stupidity is where you do the same things over and over again and expect different results. The captaincy should be taken from Cook and Flower called in to see the ECB with a fairly thorough grilling about what the fuck happened. Gooch perhaps to be replaced after such a shambolic batting display.
 
gooch is the only one i agree with there, our batting was woeful. captaincy is an issue but i can't see any alternative to cook and i think he has earned enough right to get a chance to prove he has learned from this.

flower likewise i think he has build up enough to warrant a shot at proving we can bounce back if he retains the hunger which he claims to.

i just don't see how flower can suddenly feel this strongly about it - this series [besides trott going home and swann jacking it in] he has dropped prior and given debuts to 4 players, if he really didn;t want to work with pietersen surely ballance would have got the nod ahead of him rather than root...
 
Seems to be the vibe coming out of the England camp. How KP can be made a scapegoat in that series littered with turgid shite is beyond me.

For all his faults I'd hate to see KP go.

You don't get nearly 8000 test runs by being a crap player.

I'd also hate to see Flower go. He has an outstanding record for England before this series and it's a bit knee-jerk for either of these to go but if the reports are true (and there may be some element of truth) then I just hope they can work out any problems they may have. England would be worse off without either of them.

How can things get worse man? We have been whitewashed by a bang average convicts team who hadn't won a test in years. KP is an arrogant get but to turn him into the scapegoat for this tour, where ALL our batsmen failed bar Stokes is ridiculous. Both to go for me. If Pietersen is a bad influence then he should go and Flower should have sorted it out long ago. He has to go because he has not sorted it.

The one thing you need is a settled, good dressing room. One bad apple - no matter how good he is - is one too many.

i've never quite understood how the whole nation hate kevin pietersen and yet jonathon trott, who was happily ripping the shit out of english cricketers a few months before making his debut, got a free ride with the press.

doesn't smack of racism, smells like selling papers. nobody cares about jonathon trott because he is so unbelieveably dull.
