Don't see where he fits in at Arsenal and that's no slight on the lad. We have Cech, Ospina, Szczesny and the young lad Martinez who Wenger seems to rate. Plus there's no way Wenger is spending 35 million on a keeper. He'd be our 2nd most expensive player ever at that price

He's the long term successor to Cech. He's a league above the rest of the goalkeepers on your books and he's only 22.

Backup initially then long term first choice I guess

I don't mean to be rude - but you don't know enough about your goalkeepers at Aresnal if you rate them above Pickford. Or you don't know enough about Pickford yet.

His distribution is worth £20m. Add on his shot stopping worth £15m. His command of his box, needs to and, will improve with age so bang another £5m on. Add the homegrown badge to a Champions League club...another £10m.

So £50m is the starting point for negotiations.

Piss easy this Director of Football shite.

You arn't wrong, Every keeper nowadays are expected to be good with their feet, He's tremendous. I reckon with a good set of attacking players Pickford probs has an assist or two a season in him. This kid is 10 times the keeper than that Bravo for Man city is and is homegrown. I can see Man City in for him in the summer tbh

I rate Pickford. The goalkeeping situation at Arsenal is a strange one. Wenger took 10 years to find a keeper to replace Lehmann. Now we have Cech our no1 choice and no matter how poor he plays Wenger won't drop him. Ospina is Columbia's no1 keeper and only gets a few cup games a season. We have Szczesny out on loan at Roma. I just don't see where Pickford would fit in

He's technically the best keeper with the ball at his feet that I've ever seen. His range of long passing is unbelievable.

Pep likes this.

Probably ahead of them all. He is better than every single one of them. Youngest too? Home grown to boot.

He could be Arsenal and England keeper for the next 15 year,by then 35 million will seem a snip.

Aye but Wenger has final say on everything at the club. He's not paying 35m for a keeper no matter how good he is. He treats the money like it's his own. He was the guy that tried to buy Luis Suarez for £40 million and a pound!

He's genuine class and the club that moves first for him will strengthen their team for the next ten years (barring serious injury). I know it looks like home fans bigging him up, but none of us here want to see him go anywhere. The story about a fee plus a loan-back sounds like possible and will be one of many offers that come the club's way in Jan or the Summer. How old is Cech - 35? it wouldn't be long being a number two to him.
