I would only sell pickford for £25 million plus on loan till the end of next season.
I would also have a clause saying that if after the loan he isn't their no1 we get 1st dibs on loan or sale

£20 million? Is that the loan fee till the end of the season? If SAFC give him away for that kind of money then Im done.

Interesting figures (apologies if SEB)

If goalkeepers dont go for top brass than my instinct would be to keep him and sell Kone for same price.

I haven't read all this, and don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but Jordan has to be a much better player and investment than Sissoko ffs. £20m is not enough.

13 pages? Is something in this rumour? Read it this morning and presumed it was usual bullshit.
Nope it's just the normal knee jerk reaction to anybody being interested in any player we have with any reasonable form. Same player will be shite, and we should have sold him in 12 months time.

(Expect one or the other to return, journos have already gone over this scenario).
We can not return a loan we promised the owning club he would be here for a season. Possibly if the owning club can find another place to loan him. But it's not in our hands to return.

If we spend the £20m in Jan, then keep him for the season then that's great business.

However - as as club, when do we 'ever' do great business ?;)
Altidore/Defoe swap deal.

Assuming Buffon has been on 100k a week (average) throughout his time at Juve, that's £78m just in wages, hoy in the transfer fee on top and it's over £100m all in for the transfer. Madness really isn't it when you break it down.

Madness is Jack Rodwell at SAFC.....

If true a great deal for us. For the money this would free up and given Mannone isn't far off Pickford IMO this might be our best chance of avoiding the drop as it's clear we must invest in our outfield players to stand a chance.

Pickford has also only had a few months at the top. It's possible we've seen the best of him and he fades away. Cashing in now makes sense.
Pickford is streets ahead of Mannone. Some of the saves he's made have been match winners - Mannone, while a decent keeper, never performs to that level.

Ideally we would keep Pickford however the message from Bain last week etc means that if a GOOD offer comes in we will have to accept.

£20m seems very light on though for someone with Pickford's ability and potential. I think Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City would get involved too though, and we will end up with £35m.

I'd ideally like to keep him for another 2-3 seasons but the financial reality will undoubtedly dictate otherwise.

Would be a good deal.

This could make him the 2nd most expensive all time goalkeeper. Not the finished article and getting the chance to have him for the full season? No one could refuse such an offer I'm afraid, unless he really wanted to stay for a big pay rise. Either way the Academy is still producing 20m youngsters and that's a great sign.

No we wouldn't, rather sell Kone. Pickford's value will only increase

Pickford's value may not increase at all that's the thing about keepers. He is a very promising English goalkeeper. I've seen a canny few of them over the years where one England clanger later they melt under media scrutiny. They generally go onto be solid pro's but never quite reach the heights.

It's completely unknown at this stage if he will reach those heights or not.

£20m is a very good price if it were true. I'd say £15 - £17m is more likely given his age and experience.
