Pickford enjoying himself

If Declan Rice could stay alert to the second ball I genuinely think Pickford's save from the Italian corner would be talked about as one of the greatest English saves of all time.
I think a pen would have been given as Stones had rugby tackled one of their players.

Superb save all the same. Or if you are Gary Neville or some other oik peddling the tired media narrative ‘he pushed it back into play’.

Good on him. Hate that in recent years it’s somehow frowned upon when footballers get drunk even with no football on. For me they can do what they want aslong as they turn up for pre season is a respectable shape
Psychologically the lad will need a release. Though using alcohol to manage disappointment is err, fraught with danger, so he does need to be a smidge careful.

It would be refreshing if Neville, Dixon et al just admitted that Pickford had a hell of a tournament, and kept England alive in both the semi final and the shoot out
I won't be holding breathe for a statement anytime soon.

Right argument, wrong save.

If we'd gone on to win the shoot-out from there, his save v Jorginho would have been replayed as the Geoff Hurst moment i.e. the biggest moment in the history of English football, quite possibly sport.

It was an astonishing moment of theatre, the way he psyched himself up. "No problem". There was no problem too! Well, at least for Pickford. Problem was the other side of the coin.

Ahhh give owa man, what’s to say he’s using it as a release and wouldn’t of done this regardless of the euros. Doesn’t need to be looked into that much just a young lad having a sup

Where is he doing that? Just seems like a young lad having a day/night out with family and friends. Let’s not make it something it isn’t.

Beat me to it 👍

No I know. I don't mean he's going to be an alcoholic or anything daft, but more the hangovers can be f***ing hell when you're drinking in that way. I'm not pot-shotting at him, it's great to see. Just hope he and all of them are alright tbh. It's felt canny awful this week, personally speaking, so imagine how they feel.
