It would be refreshing if Neville, Dixon et al just admitted that Pickford had a hell of a tournament, and kept England alive in both the semi final and the shoot out

If we'd gone on to win the shoot-out from there, his save v Jorginho would have been replayed as the Geoff Hurst moment i.e. the biggest moment in the history of English football, quite possibly sport.
It was an astonishing moment of theatre, the way he psyched himself up. "No problem". There was no problem too! Well, at least for Pickford. Problem was the other side of the coin.

No I know. I don't mean he's going to be an alcoholic or anything daft, but more the hangovers can be f***ing hell when you're drinking in that way. I'm not pot-shotting at him, it's great to see.
