Replaces injured Malan in tomorrow's T20 squad vs Pakistan.
Seems a bit random.
The game is being played in Cardiff.
Salt is Welsh.
How’s the ticket sales?
Surely Hain deserves a chance?
Oh hadn’t seen it was t20. That’s useful prep for the 50 over World Cup
Well I've just been able to out 20 together in my basket...
Hain would be the better pick on ability.
Not for T20
Salt averages 23.53 in T20
Hain averages 32.44
Joe Clark must be kicking himself for getting his name involved in that disgraceful behaviour at Worcester.
Surely would have been a shoe in as a replacement.
Averages not that important mate, not considered as much as strike rates by the modern coaches and analysts
Although their career strike rate is similar apparently Salt's has shot up last year or so, hence he has been picked in a few overseas tournament
Hain an ODI player, but similar to Ballance in style, no reason either couldn't play their records are amazing.
Might be a spot at 4 in the squad in next few years if Morgan goes, or with Root's back etc
Remember Hain being close to the test team few years back but had a shocker year
Think he is closer to the test side
Only himself to blame, he will play for England at some point but this is a lesson he needs teaching IMO, can't be going around like that
When do Jack Taylor and Lewis Gregory get picked?
Or, the best player in last year's Blast who is in great form for Sussex (Evans)?
Salt isn't in any sort of form. @hudson88 nailed it.
No he didn’t
Why is Salt getting picked for t20 league in Pakistan
You think that’s because he’s welsh??
Dobell had him tipped for a while
You’re just naming random players mate
So much conspiracy about selection on this board
Not saying Salt should be in there but the other batsmen you've named bat 5/6/7 whereas Salt is an opener called up to replace Hales
Separate names with a comma.
