It might have been, but how many keepers would have made that early save in the Sheff Utd game. Has weaknesses in his game but very god shot stopper. We do need a new keeper, but I really hope Patto stays
 
It's clear the club have decided we need an upgrade on Patto for the premier league which i'm absolutely fine with. Who knows, it's possible any keeper we do bring in may end up with an injury at some point and Patto gets his opportunity. He'll be a better keeper having to fight for his place ahead of a top class keeper than what he would be if we just brought in a number 2
 
I never like stories where we’re in for “talks”for players. Always question why that’s been leaked into the press. Wouldn’t be us, so either the club hoping to encourage other bids or the agent of the player after more money.

Would prefer just to get it quietly over the line asap

No matter how much abuse he gets for playing out and pinging right and left footed passes to our wingers he ignores the majority and stays calm.

there’s not one keeper in the championship that I’d pay money for to replace him including cooper who was out of position for Mayendas goal in the final and never moved his feet quick enough for watsons winner.

Course he can.
He was immense under pressure in the final 3 games and that save from Moore was unbelievable

Or he is massively overrated by some. I think he is a good shot stopper. Woeful with the ball at his feet. This hasn’t improved at all. In fact when he was carrying that extra timber it got worse. The crossing/commanding his area can probably be worked on. Decent enough goalie who I quite like but the club are clearly looking to improve on him. It maybe harsh in the eyes of some but to move forward we need better and that’s not just in goal.

This, aside from anything else, his kicking needs to improve massively to succeed in the PL. Am not sure this 'skill' can be learned as you wither have it or don't (see Pickford) or don't (Pope) but he will be given every chance.

He played his part in getting us promoted, Roberts played a fantastic reverse pass for our equaliser, doesn't mean he should play week in week out.
