That's more than fair, it's a criticism of a lot of keepers these days tbh. I like Patto but I'm not sure he'll want to be a no.2 keeper after being a 1st team regular for nigh on 3 and a half seasons
Lack of competition has been a big down fall. He’s absolutely dross with the ball at his feet. It has never improved. Good shot stopper( see Wembley). Decent keeper. He’s away if we sign a keeper for the figures that’s being reported. Ball playing keepers have replaced commanding ones. Patto isn’t either.

Patto scares me in two instances - when he comes out for crosses, and when he has the ball at his feet. In the Premier League, opposition coaches will know his weaknesses and you can guarantee that they will be telling their players to cross the ball in as much as possible, and to press him if he gets the ball at his feet. We will concede quite a few this way i think.

Patto got us up.

Patterson is so under rated by our fans.

Can he step up to premier league ? I’d like to think so
But , the shit he gets.

There isn’t a keeper in the league that trusts himself more than Patto.

No matter how much abuse he gets for playing out and pinging right and left footed passes to our wingers he ignores the majority and stays calm.

Do we think that the coaching staff want him to smash it forward at every opportunity and he’s ignoring them ????

there’s not one keeper in the championship that I’d pay money for to replace him including cooper who was out of position for Mayendas goal in the final and never moved his feet quick enough for watsons winner.

Can Patto improve ??
Course he can.
He was immense under pressure in the final 3 games and that save from Moore was unbelievable

Agree 100 per cent marra

From my Chelsea Supporting mate

I wish we were keeping him! Got player of year last year at Strasbourg. Got a good one there !!!! Better than any of our current keepers ffs !!!!

They’ll,press him undoubtedly. Crossing isn’t part of the modern game though, it’s been proven statistically to be the easiest way to give the ball away.

Don't see why getting this lad in spells the end for Patto. We'd still need another keeper in if he went, and some of the lads are just going to have to accept that a better calibre of player is going to come into the club this season.

There's going to be plenty of chances for game time and rotation with suspensions and injuries almost guaranteed to happen, and we'll need the squad for that, not just the new players that are being brought in.

Agree to a certain extent but I think Pato needs to be playing first team football. He’s a lot to work on. He’s a quality keeper but I’m not sure we can afford for him to keep learning on the job for us nor can he afford to sit on the bench.

Young is granted, young but if someone comes in I think it’ll be Young as two and Pato away.

Let’s see though marra eh? Things change, people like me are often very wrong

The competition may spur Patto on tbh.

I just don't get that everyone thinks our lads will be off because the team is getting strengthened. We needed quality in and the club are going beyond expectations in that, but we're still going to need some of our lads who've played a part over the last few seasons.

Ideally, you want 2 players for every position, and good ones at that. I just don't see many of our lads tossing their dummies out now that they've reached the PL, it's not like they'll walk into anyone else's first team in this league as we're still seen as one of the clubs favorite fir relegation.
