I know where this comes from now, its not entirely made up after all

  • A positive test result shows you may have antibodies from an infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. However, there is a chance that a positive result means you have antibodies from an infection with a different virus from the same family of viruses (called coronaviruses). Note: Other coronaviruses cannot produce a positive result on a viral test for SARS-CoV-2.

Now, whilst this clearly means that the Antibody testing may show up positive if you've been infected previously with other coronaviruses, hardly anyone is doing those tests - the PCR test does not show positive for anything other than SARS-CoV-2.

At least I have an idea where this narrative comes from now though.
