Most likely thought they were milking a cow. They’ll have been aware human babies get milk from their mother and noticed infant cows doing it too.

It would likely have been out of some desperation given humans were mostly lactose intolerant as adults prior to us starting to consume dairy.

I drink mainly oat milk. I much prefer it to cows milk now. If I have cows milk now I get the same taste you get when milk is just starting to go off. Makes me a bit cockly. Would be happy to give the pea stuff a try.

How the fk fo you milk a pea? Are they even male/female?

Goat’s milk is easier to digest than cow’s and even the fresh stuff doesn’t have any aftertaste that you might expect.

I also have oat and almond milk, happy to try pea but I can’t say I’ve seen much of it.
