Brilliant, we’ve established that we’re saying it’s a foul.

What about his previous other mistakes since there’s no fouls committed on those ones?
I had a direct view of his howler v Hull. It was a shocker. But I don’t think he’s a terrible keeper - far from it.

I've just watched the 'finger tip' save back onto the post, still cannot tell if he did get a touch....was it highlighted and slowed down on the tele? Did he deffo get a touch?

I watched the highlights of the game last night and It didn't look like he got a touch to me but quite a few are adamant he got a touch to It

He was blamed because had his finger been thinner, he would have reacted quicker and the save would have hit the post at a more favourable angle starting a counter attack which we would have ended up scoring from.

Just wondering what specific training they put him on.
Handling crosses and distribution - you would think they'd have a programme of additional training for him.
Sort these two issues and he's a Premier League keeper.

Statistically and to the naked eye, even at his best Patterson has been a bog standard middle of the road Championship GK during his time with us in this division so far, no more and no less.

He's obviously still very young for a GK in terms of age, but over 150 appearances under his belt now at the club across L1 and the Championship, I think it's fair to say he hasn't developed as much or as quickly as we would have hoped at this point and, if we're being honest, has actually regressed this season.

He's a very canny shot stopper, and yesterday was a good example of what he is providing at the minute. The ability to pull a blinding save out of the bag, but after he's made an error on a relatively simple piece of fielding to put us in the shit whilst we are 1-0 up cruising.

I've always said that I don't understand where talk of PL moves is coming from, especially for the potential fees mentioned, but it's about as likely to happen as one of us on here getting a PL move these days.

The problem is that Moore has proven over a much longer period of time that he's not going to be any better, so we're stuck with the current situation. Unlike other positions, GK is not the type of position in which you can ride out a period of poor form without the consequences being dire.

Given we are going to be shortly coming into the playoffs, where there's going to be so little between any of the 4 teams that the slightest mishap is likely to be the difference between promotion or not, it's extremely worrying. The timing could not be any worse.

I support Patterson 100%, and he is only going to get better with experience.

However, I have not worked out how to put up an image on here from my phones gallery

But the Cardiff goal yesterday put me in mind of the Peter Shilton joke.

Shilton is featured standing next to his drop dead gorgeous 😍 wife.
The punch line being..." pity you didn't punch so high when Maradona headed that goal"

and Shiltons reply ‘he cheated’ followed by ‘so did you that’s why she’s your second wife’ 🤣
That’s going to upset a few.
Now the very good save was one of the best by any keeper this season that won us the match yet we are talking about a goal we conceded where the keeper was impeded that didn’t cost us the match.

Only Sunderland fans
