It’s so f***ing lazy to call him overweight, the rest is valid criticism but you just weaken your argument by throwing in a lazy insult.

He’s by no means perfect but I don’t get some of the criticism of his distribution. Some of the adjectives used are extreme like diabolical or dreadful.

I think people have seen too much of the likes of Pickford, Alisson or Ederson on TV and expect him to be like them. He’s fine if a bit casual when passing around his own half. His long kicking could be better but a lot of the time you can see he’s trying to be too precise rather than just clearing the ball. I think we’ve played every team now and some of the oppo goalies are no where near him in terms of distribution. I’m more critical of him palming shots back into danger.

He’s fine for this level. Sometimes it’s better the devil you know. As a fan base many were happy to see mannone moved on yet the car crash of ruiter, Steele and camp came next!

That’s a fair point .., still a good keeper at this level but he hasnt kicked on

Brilliant shot stopper, but distribution is pretty poor.

Main frustration with him is that the latter has been a limitation since he broke into the first team, yet he hasn’t improved on it at all in 3 years.

This is this seasons kit so fairly recent, he’s not fat at all…he does however wear shorts a size too small for some reason.

For me he’s over weight and just not good enough. He’s the weak link in my opinion. I’ll take the pelters but he’s clearly not commanding his area and his punts up field don’t make it up field. Every where else we look ok.

No he doesn’t. A few of us watched the game together today. Not me, but the opinion is he doesn’t come for crosses, can’t kick, doesn’t instill confidence, encourages the oppo, he is, however a good shot stopper.
