Parking in Sunderland

Can you get say a monthly pass for any of the car parks e.g. St Mary's or Debenhams? Any idea how much if you can?
Not monthly in them, you can get a pass for council car parks but I think you pay up front for 6 months. Not entirely sure on the cost, been a while since I looked. There's a private car park near Tatham Street that's £50 for 28 days though.

There’s so many places to park near the centre which are free, mind. It pisses the residents off a bit, but because there are so many residential roads just on the border of the town centre you should be able to find a parking space for free well within walking distance of the town.

It’s for my daughter. She’ll not want to walk too far, especially in winter, nor will she want to deal with pissed off residents. It’d be easier to get the bus but she doesn’t do buses…..

I do buses. Think the public transport in Sunderland is mint, me. You sometimes get the odd stinker on, but I look sufficiently unpleasant enough that people opt to stand rather than sit next to me.

If I worked where she is going I'd probably get the bus. Opens up the opportunity for post work beers anarl, but i don't think thats a consideration for her.

If she’s a hottie (sorry @Town End Farmer Giles ) she could park in the Sunniside multi-storey and flirt with a barman in either Nando’s, Frankie and Benny’s, the bowling alley or the casino and get her ticket validated for free (not a euphemism). I used to work with a fit girl that did that for months.

Ya used to be able to just walk into the casino and get it validated. Walk straight to the back where they do the cash-outs and hand them your ticket.

Is the car Park next door to th Vaults still free?
No Wilfy lad. They've smartened it up and now charge 2 rates. One for permit holders and one for non-permit holders. About £1.60 an hour (for non-permit holders) iirc.

Tell the pissed off residents to fist themselves if there’s no parking restrictions.
Shan as fuck this imo. Should be basic common courtesy not to park outside someone else's house (especially all day).

Not really like. Certainly wouldn’t bother me. I don’t own the road iirc.
You don't but you should be able to park outside your own home imo. People might have walking difficulties or owt. If we all followed this simple rule there wouldn't be a problem. It's the height of ignorance.
