Footballers who enjoy themselves rarely get injured. Lads like Sturridge, rarely play. Rake in the cash and leave the game very very rich. Look at Owen at the mags, announcing himself "fit" whenever an England game came up, one of the reasons they went down IMO. We've got our own in Rodwell, yet the PFA protect them to the hilt.

He's proven to be a bit rubbish, bar one season at Newcastle

Equally, they've proven a bit rubbish other than that one season under him. That said the decision to hound him out for not repeating it set them back years. They've yet to find anyone even close to him.
