Pakistan v West Indies ODI

Interesting finish here. Pakistan chasing 306 need 44 from 4 overs, four down. All their big names gone.
Pakistan need 6 off the last over. The second to last over is always crucial imo, but the Windies lad has had a shocker there. 15 off it.

just noticed. good chase

Pakistan won the second match
Babar Azam scores his 9th consecutive international 50 - which is apparently an all time record.

"This was Babar's ninth-consecutive fifty-plus score in men's international cricket, which is now the longest streak for any batter. Babar's streak began with a 196 during the second Test of the series against Australia, following it up with a 66 and 55 in the third and the final Test.

In the three-match ODI series against Australia, Babar scored two centuries, registering scores of 57, 114, and 105* in the three games. In the only T20I against Aaron Finch's side, Babar scored 66. The Pakistan captain, then, returned to international action in the ongoing ODI series against West Indies, slamming a century (103) in the first match."

It's criminal how much he gets ignored compared to the other great batsmen of the era mind!

Had scored three straight ODI centuries before getting out for merely 77 in the last game. That was a record - first person to score 3 consecutive ODI centuries on two separate occasions. He's some player and only getting better and better. Always had elegant strokeplay, now he's added some power and has the confidence of past success.

Absolutely quality to do that across 3 formats.

Because the media does seem to not give Pakistan the same credit full stop.

Shaheen is arguably the best multi format bowler in the world and you wouldn't know it.

Rizwan probably best keeper in the world too and you wouldn't know it.
Almost like the BCCI has too much sway and the IPL pollutes minds.

Bit like the way the Premier League does in football.

Was arguing about shearers "record" with some people on twitter yesterday. I was born a few months after the prem started and I don't get why football fans perpetuate the myth of football stats began in August 1992.
