Our t20 fixtures

Don't complain you get to play the wooden spooners twice in that period.

Actually we'll probably avoid the wooden spoon once Williamson and the England contingent arrive/return but no chance of qualifying

Or see it as a bonus as we have most of our last games at home which will see us clinch qualification

Hope it works out well and we piss the league but it sits uncomfortable with me after what's gone on with the club thanks for the ECB that we are presented with this fixture schedule.

You play the same amount of games as everyone else, seven at home and seven away - so really I don’t see the issue.

Anyway, Marty isn’t very optimistic:

The T20 is here once again. That 14-match jamboree of excitement which takes you to the likes of Northampton on a wet Friday night in August.

With the plethora of managed motorways and roadworks these days it takes longer to get to and from these places as well.

Will Durham do better than their bottom-placed finish last season? A miserable campaign which saw them win only three of their 14 games, having lost the first six. A campaign in which they were behind in 11 of 13 powerplays and ahead in only one?

A season in which they had the lowest run rate at 8 an over and the worst strike rate of any team at 133 runs per 100 balls?

I am not so sure. On paper the side looks weaker, even with the arrival of leg-spinner Imran Tahir and I think this could be another long campaign of endurance. But I am happy to be mildly wrong.

Some fair points from Emmerson regarding our T20.

As for the fixtures, it just doesn't sit right with me, should be a bit more even than 4 away and 1 at home to start with.

Looked at going tonight........... £24 for an adult, fuck that

I don’t expect Durham to do very well ,home or away
I know Stokes is playing tonight but with our team apart from him I cannot see Durham getting in excess of 130 or 140
I don’t think we have consistently good strikers of a cricket ball in this format

When our best bowlers are being smashed at the end, we might as we keep them on at the start. I'd imagine any of our bowlers could do the sterling job of going for 20+ at the end
