is our future for sure, as an example Surrey CCC have 7 academy graduates in their side and if we can promote our kids like Asoro Maja Honeyman etc and add a few faces once we get out of this shit league then maybe then and only then we can start to solve the debt and the continual loaning of players farce.

The kids at the academy seem to be improving and if we can work very closely with them, i.e train and teach them their positions carefully then there is our future.

We should not have to go out and buy a right back or a left back, our academy should have them ready made.

Comparing football to cricket is like trying to make apple pie with pears. Far far more countries and money involved in football than ever will be in cricket. The academy was never going to produce 7 players to play in the first team at senior level in the top flight, not unless we do what Chelsea and Man City have been doing and buy a load of highly rated kids. We might see more now we are in league one but that's down to them not needing to be as good anymore, they aren't improving, the first team is getting worse.

But we are not in the top flight and it's next season we will need the kids to step up that's my point. As for comparing football and cricket, why not compare they are academies and both supposed to provide players for the future

That young lad from Chelsea would no doubt be delighted to be returned to sender earlier than expected. His successive sendings off alone must have cost us a couple of points. Not many perhaps in the normal scheme of things but a kings ransom when you are in our position.

The problem is we normally only get one good one every ten years.

well yeah but we have to do better, and our team needs to have 5-6 in it at least and then maybe employ better coaches, better coaches should mean better players, coleman and symons excluded of course

the under 13s won an international tournament yesterday
in the 1st round of games they won all 4 games to nil, beating man city too
then at Swansea yesterday for the finals, they beat anderlecht, then Liverpool in the semi, and beat chelsea in the final
their really are about 4 or 5 of that team which have a chance of having a good carreer, and that doesn't happen very often tbh
