Open Letter To Ellis Short/Petition

This. He's meant to be a successful businessman but he's bought a football club, made absolutely ridiculous decisions and has nearly ran it into the ground as a result. "Thanks for trying?" Fuck me, don't mean to sound harsh but isn't that what you say to the special kid who comes last in the hundred meters?
Mental isn't it. I could understand it if he was still the silent investor like he was in the beginning, but it was 6 years yesterday since Quinn left and he has been chairman of the board ever since. Is it not his responsibility as chairman to come up with a sound business plan and hire the right people to move the club forward? He's been completely reckless and gambled on staying up every year, eventually it's backfired because of his own stupidity.

People quote the amount of money we've spent, but if you look through our incoming transfers, the majority of the money was spent towards the end of each summer on panic buys after we'd tried to do it on the cheap then realised after the season started that we'd fucked up.

The only real exception since he became chairman was the signing of Lens, otherwise Fletcher, Johnson, Rodwell, Borini, etc were all signed in August. The summer we signed Fletcher, we'd actually started the season without any strikers and had only signed Saha and Cuellar on frees.

It's no wonder we started each season abysmally.

He's a coward and has fucked off and left us in the lurch despite claiming to be committed. He deserves no thanks.

Why do people keep trotting that out .... the only people I see talking about 'looking like Mags' are those who are wanting to protest.

I just don't get it tbh.
Because most of them are afraid of looking like mags. Why anyone would want to sit back and watch the club being destroyed is beyond me.

Ya f**king belter. Gerrin marra :lol::lol:

Staying in the Premier inn next to the ground tonight, arranged a site visit today and one tomorrow so work pays for my travel and accommodation. They also give me a £30 allowance which includes alcohol so I needed to get in the harvester next to the ground. Apparently if I was there after 5 security would have arrived and wouldn't let me in without seeing a Bolton end ticket so I rushed my visit and got in the pub for 4. I feel like a ninja, one that drinks free San Miguel

For the first time since 3pm Saturday I’ve a smile on me face. Agent guzzler indeed. FWIW I’m partial to the auld st mickey, it’s one of the few beers I can have a proper session on that doesn’t leave me feeling like death warmed up the next day. Enjoy your evening marra.

You should've put yourself forward as a rep when you had the chance, Mr H. You could've reformed it all.

Think this petition is a good start to try and shift the tide back in the favour of supporters. Momentum has to start somewhere and I'm pleased they've stepped up to the plate and put something out there.
If you've got a problem I suggest you address me directly.

You've got my number ;)

I just don't see people saying that tbh.

Of course people wouldn't want to dress up as vicars and embrassass themselves and the club.

But I just don't see people saying they won't participate in any protest because it's 'only for Mags'.

That phrase has been repeated on here, so many times, people just believe it imo.

Seems a tad pointless on a day when the for sale signs have gone up with a £50m price tag.

what? According to Sky Sources? I'm sure someone with £50million sat around is going to turn the tele on, switch SSN on, see that Jim White is telling everyone that Ellis wants £50million and pick up the phone to lodge an offer. The club have refused to comment.

the petition wants Ellis to make the sale his top priority. He's sat in f***ing Texas whilst Bain runs the show. Do we know he's actively looking for an offer? Is he waiting for an offer to arrive? What happens when that offer arrives in 3 years time when we're playing Luton in league 2?

there's nothing wrong with the petition like but folk will pick faults in everything so the OP was never going to please everyone.

You're a bit precious. Perhaps people just think it would make more difference and be more successful if it had been a bit more professional and well done? The utter bastards.

what do you want? It handwritten in a fancy pen and signed and counter signed? These folk work day jobs and are at least making an effort.

utter bastards indeed.

It's a funny old game. At a time when supporters could probably help the club most, lifting player morale and turning up to help finances, some of them think the solution is to protest, abuse the staff and/or turn their backs on the club they profess to love.

Imo, we won't get a buyer until the debt is drastically reduced, even if Short was to offer it for £1.

I've only read to page 4 and I've seen 2 posts calling the petition "magish" including the very first post!

these people exist. You're just choosing to ignore them.

It's not like you to be silly.

It's not unreasonable to think that something like that, by a pretty well organised group, could have a bit of drafting and made to sound and look a bit more serious and professional. We all want it to be taken seriously and make a difference after all.

There's the odd one but not the majority that is made out.

 gan on GG.

It is up for sale.

The only thing that's missing is a buyer ..... Ashley has the same problem, Newcastle have been up for sale for ages.

Is it?

On the 30 June 2017, Martin Bain clarified in an interview on the official club website that the club was no longer up for sale. This was the last communication from the club regarding it's future.
