Whilst Grandad was a legend in his own right I thought the uncle Albert episode were better as the character had a bit more scope to work with. We all know the last three shouldn't have been made. The 'this time next year we'll be billionaires' was absolute perfection. For me not another comedy made that had as many genuine hilarious moments in it

I always preferred Uncle Albert, to the Grandad.
Alberts mannerisms and the comic timing/delivery of his punchlines, always cracked me up, and imho, made him the perfect fit, to star alongside Del & Rodders, at Nelson Mandela House.
As soon as Damian turns up it's shite.
Agreed.

Imho, it was the beginning of the end, around the time Damien started to feature in the show.

Like Auf Wiedersehen Pet, OFAH, ran for too long, and eventually ran out of steam (and laughs)

Jolly Boys Outing is my favourite of the lot. A decent proportion of the cast, all away together and rushing to beat each other for a place to stay. Then the Trotters ending up at the Villa Bella.

Aye this one for me too, absolutely love the lot but this is my favourite

I’ve watched most of them again recently and strangely found the opposite. I grew up with the Albert episodes and always preferred them, but this time round I enjoyed the Grandad ones slightly more. They’re tighter and more raw. The longer episodes were very good, but it felt like the half hour ones were a bit sharper. Of course, it could just be that I watched the ones from 1987 to 1996 endlessly and found them too familiar to have the impact they had 30-40 years ago.

There’s some brilliant Albert episodes, and Jolly Boys is still my favourite of the lot, but Grandad I think is a better actor. Buster Merryfield tends to overact in his physical expressions, and once I noticed, I couldn’t unsee it.

Still, a terrific series until the auction episode, and still a brilliant watch now.

It's quite simply the best. Last month when down in Somerset I decided to visit "Nelson Mandela's House" in Bristol and stood outside the entrance where they brill the dolls out to take to Dirty Barry's, random I know but something I've wanted to do for years along with the famous garage from "Time on our hands", which is just outside Ashton Gate. Watched the episodes so many times, so many laughs never get stick of watching. Jolly Boys Outing my favourite but I'd happily watch them all anytime. I've even got a ridiculous collection of the Bobble Heads, some worth a good few quid now.
