Durhamish

Midfield
Surely the best bowler in the county championship?

Durham are lucky to have him.

I'd even stick my neck out and say he is the second best pace bowler in the country behind Anderson......

Agree

I notice alot of the headlines have been about Bresnan getting a few wickets.

Everyone knows fine well they will put him straight back in the side if he shows any kind of form, shocking really.

If they don't play Onions at the Riverside Ashes match, I'd be amazed.

In fairness the bbc cricket headline this morning was Onions

He has a lot of fans in the game, but not necessarily with the selectors

I think the feeling amongst the selectors is that in test match cricket all over the world they are played predominantly on flat pitches. Our recent tours to NZ, India and the UAE for example. Even in England we often find flat decks for test matches. Onions is still just about the best around with even a little bit in the pitch but I can sort of see where the selectors are coming from.

Onions 16 wkts, Rushworth 14 wkts are the top two wkt takers in the 1st division with Stokes joint 3rd with 13 wkts.
